Shortly after landing, we will join with Brotherhood for a lecture by a representative from the Israeli Consulate.

From Women of PTBAs, to you and all those you hold dear, our best wishes for a Sweet Pesach!!!

The place was beautiful, the food was delicious, the music was fantastic, the speeches were brilliant and the number of people who came to honor Sam Silverman was amazing. What more could anyone want? Thank you, Sam, for allowing us the privilege of honoring a temple member who does so much for his temple. We know you don't like to be in the spotlight, and it was not an easy thing for you to agree to. Also, a special thanks goes to Myron Klein and Marvin Piller, whose enormous efforts made this luncheon possible. Without people like them our Brotherhood would cease to exist as the wonderful part of our temple life that it is today.

Mark it Down- Sunday April 13 at 9:30 am at the Vegas Diner (1618- 86 St.) Free breakfast meeting for all our our (Brotherhood) members. Order whoever you like. It will be paid for by Brotherhood. We expect a huge turnout. Don't disappoint us!

Best wishes to George Burns, Paul Cohen, and Harold Gleiberman. We miss seeing you at temple.

Have a great Passover holiday from

Marvin, Joel, and our fabulous Brotherhood.

Social Action News

Ritual Committee

The Social Action Committee extends thanks and appreciation to all. I just want to pass on the comments from the places that have been the recipients of your donation of clothing, cell phones and notions. Everything has been picked up. Of course, items come in everyday  and these will be picked up shortly. Your closets now have room for spring shopping; and because of you, others have clothing in their closets. Everybody feels a a little bit better.

Don't forget to send in donations for the Passover Food Drive; we are accepting only checks or cash, as gift cards will be given to those in need. thank you for making Passover a happy time for yourself and others.

We wish all of our Temple Family a Happy and Sweet Passover.

Please put Friday, May 30, on you calendar to hear our guest speaker on this timely subject of the Jews of Cuba

We have a lovely custom at Temple where people submit the names of friends and loved ones who are ill and Mi Shebeirach prayers are said for their recovery during services.
Unfortunately, while congregants call in to place names on this list, very few ever call in to take names OFF. As a result, our list has become very lone and unwieldy. People who are no longer ill (or may have only had a bad cold) are shocked for find their name included!

As a result, we are initiating a new policy:

1. Beginning in January of 2007, the Mi Shebeirach list will be wiped clean  and we will be starting afresh with a blank slate.

2. Names will be left on the list for ONE MONTH ONLY. If you wish to place someone on the list for more than one month, please call and resubmit their name.

Remember, that at services, after the list if read, Rabbi will ask congregants to stand and mention any names not included. If you are not going to services regularly, and you have a name that you forgot to call in, this would be a good opportunity to come down and rediscover the joy of Shabbat services.

Also please remember that it is traditional to make a -donation to Temple when someone is placed on the list.

Thank you for your consideration

Sam Silverman
Ritual Committees Chairman

Charity Committee

The Charity Committee will be meeting soon to decide on which charitable organizations will benefit from our congregations generosity. If you were planning to make a donation to Charity, please do so now.

The organizations we support are very appreciative of our efforts. We remain open to your suggestions of other organizations to which to donate.

Thanks to all for your concern for the community.

Our rates are:
1/8 page $75  (business card)
1/4 page $125
1/2 page $175
Full page $300

We will prorate the costs of any ads for the remaining issues. Also, we will accept one or two time ads for a special event.
